Toledano Tradition

Z’ev ben Shimon Halevi was the original founder of the Toledano Tradition school, which came into being as a result of his books, groups, workshops and lectures. Today there are associated groups and individuals worldwide who carry on his teachings. The Kabbalah Society is an umbrella organisation for those who study the Toledano Tradition.

Roots in Medieval Spain, Open to All

Halevi’s teaching is based on universal principles, and open to all regardless of their religious or ethnic background. He named his school the Toledano Tradition, in the spirit of the early kabbalists in medieval Spain where Jews, Christians and Muslims met in a civilised cosmopolitan atmosphere to exchange ideas. Kabbalah became the esoteric fusion of religion and philosophy. In our time we relate its theories and practices to psychology, science and astrology.

Halevi discusses his early training and the introduction to Kabbalah and the diagram of “Great Tree’ or Jacob’s Ladder

Tree of Life and Jacob’s Ladder

The hallmark of the teaching is an integrated metaphysical scheme of four Worlds called Jacob’s Ladder. The primordial Tree of Life is the blueprint and key for understanding universal laws that govern Existence and our individual part in it. Using the Tree of Life and Jacob’s Ladder Halevi developed contemporary tools and methods for self development.

The diagrams of the Tree of Life and Jacob’s Ladder are the framework for exploring the Divine, spiritual, psychological and physical levels of Existence.
