Kabbalah. Gates of Knowledge – by Gila Gerzon

Kabbalah. Gates of knowledge by Gila Gerzon
Translated from Dutch by Jennie Benedict

Gates of Knowledge

Gila is a teacher in the Toledano line of Kabbalah, leading groups in the Netherlands for many years. Kabbalah – Gates of Knowledge, appeared in Dutch in 2017 and has become a source of inspiration to many Dutch students. This large and detailed work offers introductory chapters on the background of the Tradition, treatises on the Sefirot and the Worlds, reviews of the great Kabbalistic literature, and the Tree of Life exercises. Central is the attention given to meditation. Every chapter has its own meditation exercise. Basic steps in meditation are explained and the integrating of Inner Journey experiences clarified. Spiritual experiences of past and contemporary Kabbalists are described, bringing the text to life.

This book may be useful for those wishing to incorporate the teachings on their own and as a manual for study groups.

“I am delighted to see how Gila Gerzon has developed Kabbalah for our period. This kind of updating has occurred throughout history. Her treatment is precise and ordered to coordinate the modern mindset with the ancient and medieval kabbalistic tradition. This is what has kept the Line alive. The blend of scholarship, contemporary psychology and practical exercises is just right.” Z’ev ben Shimon Halevi

“A clearly written introduction, useful to those wishing to delve into the mysteries of Kabbalah.” Bookshop of the Jewish Museum in Amsterdam

“Kabbalah is made more approachable as a personal source of inspiration… offering kabbalistic concepts,  the entire map of consciousness in descriptions of the various levels and allusions to THAT which is beyond all concepts. A whole set of tools useful to inner work… a treasure hall.” Ewald Wagenaar, editor of the Koorddanser

“Deep and intense, with a light on every page.
To be read over and over!” Dutch Students

Postponement of the International Kabbalah Conference in The Netherlands

International Kabbalah Conference (English Spoken)

The Human Spirit

Regrettably, due to the global spread of the Coronavirus, we have decided to cancel the original date and postpone the International Kabbalah Conference in The Netherlands on 6th – 7th June 2020.

The new date is now set for 10th – 11th October 2020.

The original date (6th – 7th June) just seemed too close to the now set safety measures for group meetings and social distancing by the Dutch government which is now set on 1st June and there is no guarantee that this period will not be extended and we will have to cancel our meeting again.

To those who have already paid and cannot come in October, we will of course, on your wish, refund the money. We hope that already bought air tickets can be exchanged for a voucher which most airline companies seem to be offering.

It is a pity we will not be able to share our experience on short notice. We hope you all will understand, and we look forward to seeing you in October.

Note for Dutch participants: Instead of the 10th October, we will soon announce a new date for the National Exchange Day.

Kabbalah Society Annual Summer School – Gloucestershire, UK – September 1st-4th 2020

Sadly, due to current circumstances, our summer school has been cancelled. For further information, please link with Hawkwood to follow their journey during these unprecedented times. Looking ahead to positive times, we shall be returning next year.

Facilitators: Kurt Browne and Joanna Lapage-Browne

After over 30 years of running Summer Schools, our teacher Z’ev ben Shimon Halevi (Warren Kenton) decided, at the age of 82, that it was time for him to rest from this task. He announced that 2014 would be his final Summer School and this was very sad news for us all. There was a deep sense of gratitude and appreciation for the tradition that he has passed on to us so faithfully over the years. This he continues to do, with the support of his wife Rebekah.

Despite having to accept that it was the end of a remarkable era, many who attended expressed their wish to keep that annual space for the school to meet, study, meditate and enjoy the company of good companions. The work goes on.

Warren had previously approached us to ask if we would be prepared to take over the running of the annual Summer School, and we accepted, very aware of the great responsibility involved. Our intention is to continue to pass on the teaching of the Toledano Tradition, so clearly reformulated by Warren, to make it applicable to everyday life.

During the four days, contemplation, slide lectures, guided imagery meditation and ritual, will assist us in bringing the principles to life through experience and reflection. The afternoon breaks will allow time for solitude, conversation and local trips or walks in the beautiful grounds and woods.

The format for each day:

Breakfast – 8.30 am
Session 1 – 9.30 am – 11.00 am
Coffee – 11.00 am – 11.30 am
Session 2 – 11.30 am – 12.45 pm
Lunch – 1.00 pm
Afternoon free
Tea – 4.00 pm
Session 3 – 4.30 pm – 6.00 pm
Supper – 6.30 pm
Session 4 – 8.00 pm – 9.15 pm

Kurt Browne and Joanna Lapage-Browne

Kurt and Joanna have studied in the Toledano Tradition School of the Soul, founded by Z’ev ben Shimon Halevi (Warren Kenton), since the early 1970s. They live and work in London and have a son, two daughters and six grandchildren. They run Kabbalah groups together and have led courses on the tradition for over 25 years in Europe, Africa, the USA, Mexico and Japan.

Hawkwood College:  An old English mansion with exceptional views overlooking the countryside, surrounded by woodland and fields. Even the distant mountains of Wales can be seen from there. While the course is intense, it is also a holiday in good company. Here, enduring friendships are forged between people from many lands. This is a characteristic of the Kabbalah Society’s School of the Soul.
