Sadly, due to current circumstances, our summer school has been cancelled. For further information, please link with Hawkwood to follow their journey during these unprecedented times. Looking ahead to positive times, we shall be returning next year.
THE WAY OF KABBALAH
Facilitators: Kurt Browne and Joanna Lapage-Browne
After over 30 years of running Summer Schools, our teacher Z’ev ben Shimon Halevi (Warren Kenton) decided, at the age of 82, that it was time for him to rest from this task. He announced that 2014 would be his final Summer School and this was very sad news for us all. There was a deep sense of gratitude and appreciation for the tradition that he has passed on to us so faithfully over the years. This he continues to do, with the support of his wife Rebekah.
Despite having to accept that it was the end of a remarkable era, many who attended expressed their wish to keep that annual space for the school to meet, study, meditate and enjoy the company of good companions. The work goes on.
Warren had previously approached us to ask if we would be prepared to take over the running of the annual Summer School, and we accepted, very aware of the great responsibility involved. Our intention is to continue to pass on the teaching of the Toledano Tradition, so clearly reformulated by Warren, to make it applicable to everyday life.
During the four days, contemplation, slide lectures, guided imagery meditation and ritual, will assist us in bringing the principles to life through experience and reflection. The afternoon breaks will allow time for solitude, conversation and local trips or walks in the beautiful grounds and woods.
The format for each day:
Breakfast – 8.30 am
Session 1 – 9.30 am – 11.00 am
Coffee – 11.00 am – 11.30 am

Kurt Browne and Joanna Lapage-Browne
Kurt and Joanna have studied in the Toledano Tradition School of the Soul, founded by Z’ev ben Shimon Halevi (Warren Kenton), since the early 1970s. They live and work in London and have a son, two daughters and six grandchildren. They run Kabbalah groups together and have led courses on the tradition for over 25 years in Europe, Africa, the USA, Mexico and Japan.
Hawkwood College: An old English mansion with exceptional views overlooking the countryside, surrounded by woodland and fields. Even the distant mountains of Wales can be seen from there. While the course is intense, it is also a holiday in good company. Here, enduring friendships are forged between people from many lands. This is a characteristic of the Kabbalah Society’s School of the Soul.
