November 4th 2018 – London – Ten Biblical Women on the Tree of Life

September 14th, 2018

November 4th 2018
2.30 – 4.30

Magda van der Ende

The stories of ten Biblical women will be examined to illustrate the essences of the ten sefirot on the Tree of Life.
In general the Biblical text does not say very much about women, they are just referred to as ‘the wife of’. However, there are riches to be found in other sources about these matriarchs and comparing them with the archetypes of the goddesses in the sephirot helps us to understand their core meaning.
This subject contributes to restoring the balance between the feminine and masculine in our lives.

Magda van der Ende (1947) studied theology in Utrecht, NL and Cluj/Kolozsvár, Romania. In 1985 she met Warren Kenton as her teacher and after 10 years of Kabbalah study in the Toledano school, she started teaching and guiding people individually on their spiritual path. She is mother of two and grandmother of two and together with her partner runs De Expedite in Amersfoort, The Netherlands.
She has published a book ‘Ten Biblical Women on the Tree of Life’.

Kabbalah and the Feminine – London – September 1st 2018

August 8th, 2018

The Divine Feminine, is present throughout the Bible but, as part of the oral Wisdom Tradition, she is hidden. She is meant to be hidden — to be discovered only by those who are ready to understand her power.
The development of the human soul is revealed throughout the Hebrew Testament in stories of love, hate, adultery, deception, betrayal, murder, compassion and redemption —a blockbuster told by more than 20 generations of feisty and powerful women, every one of whom still has something to teach us today.
Maggy will weave the story of Sophia, the feminine wisdom tradition from Shekhinah to Mary Magdalene through the filters of Kabbalah, history and social customs to see what we can still learn from the Matriarchs and Heroines today. Each of them is an archetype within us and can show us our strengths – and our shadow.

Maximum number: 10. Men are most welcome at this workshop – it is about the feminine not the female!

Location: Atlantis Book Shop, 49A Museum St London WC1A.
Date: Saturday 1st September 2018.

Cost: £50. Enquiries and booking: Email: atlantis@theatlantisbookshop.com . Tel: 0207 405 2120.

Kabbalah, Quantum Physics and New Biology – Mike Bais

Mon 27 Aug – Tue 28 Aug 2018

During the past few decades there has been a growing interest in drawing together the principles of spiritual traditions with the material sciences. Many scientists have concluded through their research and experiences that the boundaries defining matter are not as stable and fixed as previously thought, consequently old theories are being re-examined in the light of new discoveries.

The new biology and quantum physics are two such revolutionary developments. They shed a different light on what we think of as matter, DNA, other hereditary factors, and the place of consciousness in this whole scheme.
The task of connecting these new explorations with the metaphysics of the Tree of Life and Jacob’s Ladder is a fascinating and exciting Kabbalistic adventure. Tutor Mike Bais has written about this research in an article in Harvest of the Tree of Life (a collection of writings honouring Z’ev ben Shimon Halevi and his teaching over 30 years in the Netherlands).

Fully inclusive residential single room £135; shared £115 per person; Non-residential option £75 – includes suppers, lunches and all refreshments- Excludes B&B

A Woman’s Worth – New book from Maggy Whitehouse

March 19th, 2018

A Woman’s Worth
The Divine Feminine in the Hebrew Bible

This book offers a stunningly new interpretation of the role of the women in the Hebrew Testament. Using the Judaic mystical system of Kabbalah – the closest we have to the time of the writing of the Bible – it represents them as aspects of the Divine Feminine, the Creatrix of the World.

The lives of the Matriarchs and Heroines of the Bible viewed through the eyes of the Toledano Tradition of Kabbalah, outlines the development of the feminine aspect of the human soul. This reveals the women as archetypes as relevant to us today as to the Jews and Christians 2000 years ago.

“Few have written so clearly and accessibly about the liberating humanism and therapeutic power conveyed by the ancient stories of the women of the Bible. Maggy knows how to call up Truth and Beauty with the stroke of a keyboard.’ Prof. Peter Bolland.

‘Philo, a highly educated Jew in Egypt in the mid-first century CE, would have recognised Maggy Whitehouse’s approach to the Hebrew Bible.’ Dr. Margaret Barker.

March 15th, 2018

A two-day practical workshop to paint your own Tree of Life or Jacob’s Ladder in beautiful Devon with Peter Dickinson and Maggy Whitehouse.

This is a meditative process that not only helps you to understand these ancient diagrams of the Patterns of Creation but also helps heal aspects where you may be out of balance in your own life.

We will spend both days designing, drawing and painting the diagrams and the great thing is that absolutely no artistic talent is required. Neither is any previous knowledge of Kabbalah.

Over the last decade, Lion and I have run Tree-making workshops that included folk with Parkinson’s and with Cerebral Palsy. However, fully healthy folk do manage it faster!
The workshop will be in the location of South Zeal or Chagford, Devon, depending on numbers. All canvas, pens and paint provided together with a simple vegetarian lunch and treats.

Cost: £95. MAXIMUM eight people.

Weather permitting we will also visit Scorhill Stone Circle together on either Saturday or Sunday afternoon.

The Calling – New Novel by Gonzalo S. Rey

March 14th, 2018

The CallingTHE CALLING is a historical novel set in Castile and Aragon, Spain during the 13th Century. It is the story of Lorenzo, a young man following the longing of his soul, who takes a spiritual pilgrimage from his native city of Teruel to Toledo, the spiritual center of medieval Spain. Along his particular “hero´s journey”, he encounters several adventures and tests until he arrives in the capital of Castile. In Toledo, he meets the great sages of his time who help him discover a new dimension of reality. A novel full of adventure, emotion, knowledge, romance…

“THE CALLING is about looking for and finding the Spiritual Path. This is clearly defined by the characters the “Seeker” Lorenzo meets and the situations he encounters in his search for enlightenment. Set in a difficult historical epoch, this is not easy. Politics and religion struggle in medieval Spain where three cultures meet in conflict not just in the social arena but at the psychological and spiritual levels. The tests of the seeker are both seductive and frightening. These are overcome by great effort and with the aid of good people as well as heavenly intervention. It is a drma that involves the esoteric aspect of history. This book will be a very useful guide to the reader as the Door to the Way. Gonzalo S. Rey takes the reader the many steps along the Path with much insight.”
Z’ev ben Shimon Halevi.
