I awoke this morning
to the sound of a woman's voice
coming from a corner of my room.
Her words, unintelligible but clear
and sharp, seemed to emanate from
an invisible force trying to break
through the barrier of my mind
while still sleep-wrapped,
cocooned, and gently open to
dimensions from here or beyond.
What she said, I'll never know.
It was her presence that mattered.
Schechinah, the female aspect of God,
had come to touch my spirit
with her voice.
I comprehend this mystery
of form revealed in sound
by connecting it to the mystery
of wisdom, understanding, and knowledge
that abide in the upper Tree of Life as
Hochmah, Binah, and Daat.
As I open myself to the divinity of
these three levels of knowing,
I believe Schechinah watches
and guides me closer to the top.
Perhaps she wanted me to know
how far I've come.
